Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn (born Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn) is an American actor who works on television, film, and theater. An accomplished thespian, she has been active professionally from the last 27 years. The first time she appeared on stage in an unstaged Broadway production of The Big Funk written by John Patrick Shanley, in the year 1990. In the following year she was cast in her first television role, The Perfect Tribute. The biggest break in her professional career happened in 1992 when she starred as a supporting character in Basic Instinct. It was in The Firm however that she was chosen as the female lead for the very first time and that too opposite actors like Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. The 90s saw her working alongside some of the top actors in Hollywood, including Gwyneth Paltrow as well as Hugh Grant. She appeared as the role of Dr. Alex Blake on the popular international police procedural drama Criminal Minds.

Lexis grew up in an environment of golfers which means she had no experience in this male-dominated sport. When she was a kid she started playing golf. In 2007, at age 12, became the first woman to become eligible to compete in the US Women's Open. In 2007 she wasn't the winner of the Women's US Open however, she won the Aldila Junior Classic to be the second. Along with being one of the youngest American Junior Golf Association, (AJGA) winner of the championship in the year she was born and also being the youngest participant to win Westfield Junior PGA Championship.
